Henry and Eliza (Cartmell) Tullis

William M. Tullis of Urbana, Ohio, was kind enough to share these photos of his great-great- grandparents, Henry Tullis (1834-1919) and Eliza Cartmell (1844-1914), daughter of Thomas J. Cartmell and Amanda Fisher. Henry was the eldest son of David L. Tullis (1808-1876) whose portrait graced the cover of Tullis Trees, Vol. 2, No. 1. The story of the two portraits of David was also in that issue. William is the proud owner of the original 1873 portrait by S. Jerome Uhl. Henry Tullis was aboard the first passenger train to run between Springfield and Mechanicsburg, Ohio, in 1854. Henry and Eliza are both buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
